A First Look at League of Legends’ RPG game

"The Ruined King is just around the corner"

A single-player experience with Bilgewater's most badass heroes

Are you a League of Legends fan? No?

Well, by the Spring of 2021 you will have become! Why’s that though?

Well, Riot Games has long announced that it works on a brand new project that takes place in the amazing universe of its popular MOBA game, League of Legends. In case you did not know, apart from League of Legends: Wild Rift that will arrive on mobiles soon, the famous franchise is preparing to make its debut on console gaming. So, as a LoL fan and as a Miss Fortune main and groupie, I can’t help but cheer like crazy. But, allow me to elaborate!

The game is named Ruined King: A League of Legends Story and a new video from this project was just launched. Specifically, through the official PlayStation YouTube channel, we got the first taste of a CG video that introduces us into its intriguing world.

The game is being developed by Airship Syndicate and is a single-player turn-based RPG game featuring Bilgewater and Shadow Isle heroes. Players will be able to control Miss Fortune, Illaoi, Braum, Yasuo, Ahri, and Pyke on their trip to Black Mist. It will be released in the first quarter of 2021 but, until then, you can watch the announcement trailer through the player below.

So, now that we’re done with the info-providing-part, it’s time to dig a little deeper. As you may already know, the famous Online Battle Arena game has taken the industry by storm in the last years. Truth is that its characters tend to have interesting backstories, as well as unique personalities, that cannot be unfolded properly in the classic MOBA type of gaming. So, after Riot’s collaboration with MARVEL, in order to create comics based on LoL’s champions (such as Ash or Lux), the creation of an RPG title was somewhat expected. And I think that it’s an intelligent move.

Throughout the years, on the occasion of Riot’s astonishing cinematics, the fans were repetitively asking for the creation of a film or RPG based on the LoL universe. If you’re curious about their hype, check out the cinematic below, but be warned: You’ll get the chills!

So, after successfully turning you into a LoL fan with this video's help, you can now understand why everyone was so desperate for the release of an RPG game -or an animation film. The company has some extremely talented animators that are aware of how to create intense feelings and capture the player’s heart. Their imagination never ceases to create new scenarios, breathtaking champions, and mesmerizing backgrounds. Thus, their time to shine has arrived and a new way is paved to the franchise’s future. This time, the game will be mainly about Bilgewater and Shadow Isles heroes, but the future holds many surprises. So, next year, we’ll hopefully witness the release of a game revolving around Demacian or Shurima ones!

In conclusion: GG Rito, Well Played!
