Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was one of the most impressive announcements we saw from Ubisoft at E3 2021. It is an exclusive next-gen title that is expected to be released sometime in 2022.
Now, the development team, Massive Entertainment, has released a new video explaining what the next-gen game does, focusing on improvements to the Snowdrop graphics engine (The Division) to take advantage of the most powerful hardware.
Among other things, the studio will use ray-tracing technologies, while noting that every corner of the Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora world will be full of details. The team has even prepared real-time simulations for the in-game wind, while emphasizing that the plants of the planet will be smart, reacting to the presence of the player. The group's most ambitious promise, however, relates to NPCs.
Specifically, Massive revealed that it has created an intelligent system that allows NPCs to understand and react to world situations, such as the weather, the player's progress and the day-night cycle.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will be released in 2022 for PS5, Xbox Series X | S, PC, Google Stadia and Amazon Luna.
