Although women's gaming community stands strong nowadays, it wasn't always the case. It took a lot of years in the gaming industry to stop pointing all the marketing resources towards one gender.

That left us wondering, what was the first most popular gaming console to women audience? Short answer, it was strangely the Nintendo Game Boy.

In 1995, Nintendo of America announced that 46% of the Game Boy gamers are women. It was a remarkable number considering that NES was 29% and SNES 14%.

Let's hope that we're heading towards a gaming era with less sexism and above all, less sexual harassment.
