Nintendo DS is a handheld gaming console released by Nintendo in 2004 and 2005. The DS strands for "Developer's System" or "Dual Sceen". Nintendo DS is considered one of the most innovative consoles that Nintendo released. The feature that stands out the most is the existence of 2 screens, with the one at the bottom to be a touchscreen. It's also features a built-in microphone and WiFi connectivity. The console also gives another unique feature: Multiple consoles of Nintendo DS can communicate via WiFi without the need to connect to an existing wireless network if they are in close range.

Nintendo DS had only PSP as a worthy competitor in the 7th generation of consoles and was a huge success, being the best selling video game handheld console and the second best selling video game console after Playstation 2.
