The Game Boy Light by Nintendo is a variant of the Game Boy Pocket which is a redesign of the Game Boy. It released only in Japan six months before the release of Game Boy Color. The main difference with the Game Boy Pocket is the electroluminescence screen that adds a blue-green tint that can be turned on and make it easier for the player to play in dark areas. It's also even more power economic since it allows 12 (with the light of the screen on) - 20 hours (with the light of the screen off) of game play with two AA batteries.
