Zeebo is a home console released by Zeebo Inc. in 2009 and discontinued in 2011. The console targeted mainly Brazil and Mexico and the games could be downloaded wirelessly. The content of many games had a lot of educational characteristics. As Zeebo claimed, the purpose of the console was to "bring the fun and excitement of interactive entertainment and education to those who—until now—have had little or no access to such technology." However, the games were vulnerable to piracy, since anyone could download the games (there were no cartridges or CD-ROMs) and this fact has hindered sales of game consoles in developing markets.
