GP2X is a handheld console released in S. Korea in 2005 by GamePark Holdings. GamePark Holdings is a company created by former employees of GamePark, that launched the GP32 console. The console was open source (Linux based) and friendly to indie developers. The purpose of the console was to run emulators. Except gaming, GP2X supports various media types such as music and video playing, viewing photos etc.
